Under the “I am a lifelong learner — Alexandria, a city of sustainable learning” initiative, Eng. Iman Abbas, head of the district, attended a workshop run by the district’s equal-opportunities unit at the Al-Orwa Al-Wuthqa association in El Shatby, teaching 20 women the basics of sewing, using a sewing machine, cutting patterns and making home furnishings.

The workshop is part of the district’s work to support women economically and socially and help them start small home businesses.

The head of the district also held an open meeting at the district’s technology centre, receiving 35 residents with complaints and requests about building files, electricity, shop licences and refunds, and directing the departments concerned to resolve them.
